Description

Support for the planning and carrying out of a national integrated evaluation on household living conditions to obtain an accurate and updated profile on living conditions and poverty. The evaluation included: (1) a study on poverty perceptions conducted on 224 focus groups in all the states and divisions of Myanmar; (2) an analysis of the existing available data and reports on living conditions; (3) a quantitative survey of the type LSMS on 18900 households, with two visits; (4) design of a prototype Management Information System (MIS) with a data warehouse approach.

The services offered included repeated short-term missions to:

1. propose institutional arrangements and work plan for the elaboration of an evaluation on living conditions of households;
2. participate in the recruiting of staff for the project’s technical unit;
3. participate in the analysis of existing data and documentation;
4. propose methods of procedure for the qualitative study and the quantitative survey and discuss them with the partners;
5. participate in training sessions for trainers for the qualitative study and the quantitative survey;
6. support data analysis and report editing; and
7. propose and support implementation of a MIS prototype.
