Planning and Budgeting System

The Institute develops, in a participatory manner, applications to facilitate planning and budgeting that respond effectively to the needs of planners and program/project managers. Those applications are part and parcel of the implementation of the Sectoral Medium Term Expenditure Framework (SMTEF) process and provide technical solutions that are compatible with most Integrated Financial Management Information Systems (IFMIS) and performance monitoring & evaluation tools.

Proposed tailor-made solutions are easily integrated in the technological environment of your organisation. They do not require heavy investments in information technology equipments and can be installed on a PC or as a multiple-user web application on a server. IDEA solutions contribute to: (i) a structured and standardised approach to planning and budgeting of programs or projects; (ii) a possible aggregation of program and project budgets, using the budget nomenclature; (iii) efficiency gains in the planning and budgeting process; and (iv) the operationalization of Results-Based Management in your organisation.
